TF Library Grant not funded in first round- and a request for our patrons and supporters

In November, the Tinton Falls Library Association received the disappointing news that we did not receive funding from the first round of the New Jersey Library Construction Bond Act (NJLCBA). Therefore, in the first Quarter of 2021, we will apply for the second round of funding from the NJLCBA.

We will also be exploring our other options for the building if we fail to receive any funding from the NJLCBA. To this end, we are asking for your help. Please email Mayor Perillo and let him know that opening the library is a priority for you and your family. His email address: mayor@tintonfalls.com Here is suggested wording or feel free to compose your own email.

“Dear Mayor Perillo, I’m writing to express my support for reopening the Tinton Falls Library even if the library does not receive funds from the NJLCBA this year. Specifically, I am asking for your support by including a line item in the budget that will enable the necessary repairs to the library building so our library can reopen. The library is a vital part of the Tinton Falls community and should be repaired and reopened as soon as possible. Sincerely, Your name”

We realize that everyone is busy with school resuming and many other concerns, but the town budget is passed in April so please do email the mayor by March 31.

We thank you for your support and wish you a healthy and happy 2021!
